The beginnings & continuation of artist Emma Gullo
Emma Gullo (EGSINGS) is an upcoming artist from the Atlanta suburbia.
At the age of 2, Emma stepped onto her first stage through dance. She began training over the course of nine years in ballet, tap, jazz, & triple treat. After hanging up her dance shoes, Emma began focusing on a love she had begun falling for: singing.
In her pre-teen years, she would attend Talent Scout: Cue52 Summer Camp - a program dedicated to encouraging the growth of young artists. This would be the first time Emma recognized her gift for entertaining.
The summer before entering high school, Emma, now 14, and her family went on a vacation to Nashville. Her dad suggested to bring along the guitar, because "you never know what could happen". They set up her humble "stage": a foldable metal chair they came across and an iPad stand. For hours Emma played on this street corner, singing to the passing crowds. After an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, Emma and her parents felt like she had uncovered a calling.
As she entered high school, she auditioned for the school's junior production of GREASE. Emma landed the role of Rizzo, catapulting her into the theatre world and back onto the stage in a new way.
Emma would become emersed in the artistic world; she balanced weekday theatre rehearsals and weekend gigs, while also being an excelling student.
At 18 and now an adult, Emma started cementing her style and experimented with early merchandise/marketing. It was around this time she auditioned for a gig at hometown hub Good Ole Days, booking their outdoor patio for the next two summers. This place became a huge part in developing her musical influences - her unique sound highlighted renditions of rock, pop, and country classics. She became known for her covers of Bennie & the Jets, Jolene, Royals, and Free Fallin'.
In the fall of 2018, Emma enrolled at Georgia College & State University for a degree in Theatre. She loved exploring the elements of production: carpentry, scenic design, costume design, and especially directing.
Now in her college-town, Emma began networking within the Milledgeville music community. In September 2021, she secured a waitress position at local bar Buffingtons. Here, she was given opportunities to sing for their Friday dinner music crowd. After booking local businesses around Milledgeville, Emma would eventually branch out to other cities: Savannah, Augusta, and Blairsville.
Right before the turn of the new year, EGSINGS released her first song "WEIGHT" on all streaming platforms, accomplishing one of her biggest dreams at just 22 years old!
Emma's plans for 2022 include relocating to a thriving music city and releasing a full EP album by the end of spring.
In late January 2022, Emma connected with the four talented musicians of HighSpeed Dream (See HSD page). The group found themselves playing together for the first time at a college fraternity event, and after an overwhelmingly positive crowd response, the five unearthed a solid chemistry. On a wild whim, the newly formed HighSpeed Dream decided to audition for Georgia College and State University's "Battle of the Bands" - all student-led bands were welcome to audition for a chance to be the opening act at the university’s 2022 Homecoming Concert. Competing against local-college bands, GCSU hosted the high-energy event in their Magnolia Ballroom.
HighSpeed Dream was announced as the WINNER of GCSU's "2022 BOTB" and is looking forward to performing on February 25th, 2022!
